Making science fun, one paper plane at a time.
Our important educational mission.
Since 2008, we’ve built educational programs and experiences aimed at helping teachers bring STEM fundamentals to life. It’s safe to say that we wake every single day excited to inspire, educate and build confidence in children through encouraging a passion for paper planes.
Flight School = Curriculum Aligned.
Paper planes can be used as a powerful educational tool to achieve outcomes in the Australian school curriculums throughout primary & secondary schools. Our work to promote understanding of:
Forces - Lift, drag, thrust, gravity and more.
Flight in nature - Birds, insects and many evolutionary adaptations.
Observation - Experimentation and problem solving.
Flight History - Humans flight, first aircraft, fabulous experiments.
One amazing story.
It started in 2008 with a chance meeting at a local paper plane comp, throw in one golfball sized brain-tumour for Dylan, a 3rd place at the World Paper Plane Championships and a famous top qualifier from James hitting the roof on his last throw. Then stir in two Australian Story episodes, several months of touring Pakistan and India, 5,000 screaming children in a packed stadium in Sydney, 10,000 paper planes in a library in Melbourne, 30,000 paper planes to the wind in over 200 schools, a few choice planes in the crowd of a Paul Kelly concert and one movie - ‘PAPER PLANES’.
